Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of pre-made croissant dough (8 croissants)
  • 2 cups of apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup of almond paste
  • 1/4 cup of slivered almonds
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apple filling by cooking diced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until softened.
  2. In a mixing bowl, knead the almond paste until soft and creamy.
  3. Unroll the pre-made croissant dough on a clean surface. Spread a layer of almond cream on each triangle and top with a spoonful of the apple filling. Roll from wide to narrow end into crescent shapes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it with butter. Place assembled croissants on the sheet, brush with egg wash, sprinkle slivered almonds on top, and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and serving warm.
