  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • 2¼ tsp instant dry yeast
  • 120 g sugar
  • 240 ml lukewarm milk
  • 60 g unsalted melted butter cooled to room temperature
  • 1 egg at room temperature
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract or essence
  • 900 g apples (Pink Lady, Fuji, or Royal Gala)
  • 60 g unsalted butter
  • 170 g brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and instant dry yeast.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until well blended.
  3. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl. Cover it with a damp cloth.
  6. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  7. Peel and chop the apples into small pieces.
  8. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat and add apples.
  9. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, salt, and water; cook until apples are tender.
  10. Roll out the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  11. Spread the apple filling evenly across the dough.
  12. Roll tightly from one long edge to form a log shape.
  13. Cut into equal slices (about 10) using a sharp knife.
  14. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  15. Place rolls on lined baking sheets; cover with a cloth and let rise again for about 30 minutes.
  16. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown.
