Ingredients

Scale
  • 13.8 ounce tube refrigerated pizza dough
  • 3 black olives (for eyes)
  • Piece of red bell pepper (for tongues)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for brushing)
  • 2 teaspoons poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Prepare the eyes by cutting the black olives into small pieces and slice the red bell pepper into forked tongues.
  3. Unroll the pizza dough on a clean surface and cut it into 12 strips along the long side.
  4. Roll each strip into ropes about 12 inches long, tapering one end for the tail and flattening the other end for the head.
  5. Wrap each rope in a spiral around greased wooden chopsticks or metal straws. Brush with olive oil and sprinkle with poppy seeds or sesame seeds.
  6. Place small pieces of olives on each flattened head for eyes.
  7. Bake on parchment-lined baking sheets for 11-15 minutes until golden brown and let cool for 3 minutes before removing the sticks.
  8. While warm, use a toothpick to insert pieces of red pepper into the flat ends for tongues.
