Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 red apples (preferably Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
  • 1 can refrigerated cinnamon roll dough
  • 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar
  • Powdered sugar (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (191°C) and prepare a 9-inch round baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. Unroll several cinnamon rolls and arrange them in a spiral to form the base of your tart.
  3. Halve and core the apples, then slice them thinly (about 1/8-inch thick). Toss with lemon juice.
  4. In a small bowl, mix melted butter and brown sugar; coat the apple slices thoroughly.
  5. Microwave apple slices for about 2 minutes until pliable. Strain any liquid.
  6. Create rose shapes by overlapping apple slices and rolling them up; place these in the center of your cinnamon roll spiral.
  7. Fill gaps with extra apple slices, then bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
