  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter (cold and cut into pieces)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a non-stick donut pan.
  2. In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar, flour, and cinnamon for the crumb topping. Cut in cold butter until it resembles coarse crumbs. Chill in the freezer.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, combine wet ingredients: sour cream, brown sugar, melted butter, and egg. Gently fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients.
  4. Fill each donut mold with batter and sprinkle crumb topping on top.
  5. Bake for 10-11 minutes until donuts spring back when pressed. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
