  • 6 ounces fresh mozzarella pearls
  • 1 demi baguette
  • ½ cup basil pesto
  • Gel food coloring (black)
  • 12 ounces cherry tomatoes
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Fresh basil
  • Balsamic glaze for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Place silicone skull molds on a baking sheet and fill with mozzarella pearls. Bake for 6-7 minutes until melted.
  3. Press mozzarella into molds using an oiled spoon and let cool.
  4. Increase oven temperature to 475°F.
  5. Cut cherry tomatoes in half, season, and roast on a parchment-lined sheet for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Slice the baguette and toast on another baking sheet for 8-10 minutes until slightly brown.
  7. Mix basil pesto with black gel food coloring until desired color is achieved.
  8. Spread black pesto on toasted bread, return to oven for an additional 8-10 minutes.
  9. Assemble bruschetta by topping with roasted tomatoes and mozzarella skulls.
  10. Serve garnished with fresh basil and balsamic glaze.
