Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup water (for syrup)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 family-size tea bags (or 8 regular tea bags)
  • 8 cups water (divided)
  • Ice
  • Optional garnishes: sliced lemon, mint sprigs

Instructions

  1. To create the strawberry syrup, wash and quarter the strawberries. Boil them with 1 cup of water for 10-15 minutes. Strain to remove pulp, then mix in sugar and boil for an additional minute. Let it cool.
  2. For the tea concentrate, boil 4 cups of water, steep tea bags in a heat-proof container for 5 minutes, then remove bags and add another 4 cups of cold water into a pitcher.
  3. Once cooled, stir the strawberry syrup into the brewed tea.
  4. Serve over ice in glasses, garnishing with sliced lemon or mint if desired.
