  • 1 tbsp yeast
  • 2 cups warm milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 1/3 cups oil
  • 8 cups flour (plus extra for rolling)
  • 2 cups feta cheese
  • Sesame seeds (for topping)
  • 3 egg yolks (beaten)

Instructions

  1. In a large mug, mix warm milk with yeast and sugar; let proof until foamy (about 10 minutes).
  2. In a bowl, beat eggs and combine with oil. Add proofed yeast mixture and remaining milk; stir well.
  3. Gradually add flour while mixing until a soft dough forms; knead until smooth.
  4. Cover dough and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (30 minutes).
  5. Roll out dough into thin circles, cut into triangles, and fill with crumbled feta cheese.
  6. Roll each triangle from the wider end to the point; place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Allow the rolled crescents to rise again for 20–30 minutes.
  8. Brush with beaten egg yolk, sprinkle sesame seeds, and bake at 350°F (175°C) until golden brown.
