  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 oz cremini mushrooms, diced
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp non-alcoholic Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 68 tbsp cold water

Instructions

  1. In a frying pan over medium heat, warm the olive oil. Sauté chopped onions and minced garlic until translucent.
  2. Add ground beef to the pan and cook until browned. Mix in diced mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper; cook until mushrooms are tender.
  3. For the crust, combine flour and salt in a mixing bowl. Cut in cold butter until crumbly, then slowly add cold water until dough forms. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out half the dough to fit your pie dish and fill with the beef mixture. Roll out remaining dough for the top crust; seal edges and cut slits for steam.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before slicing.
