  • 10 tbsp butter
  • 1 1/2 cups dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 3 eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 tsp espresso powder (optional)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 package candy eyes
  • 20 oz semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp heavy cream, to thin

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9 x 9 inch cake pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter and 1 cup of chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth.
  3. In a stand mixer, beat the eggs until frothy. Gradually mix in the melted chocolate mixture along with sugar.
  4. Fold in flour and remaining chocolate chips until just combined.
  5. Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  6. Let cool before cutting into squares. Decorate with white icing to create bandages and add candy eyes.
