  • 1/2 cup lukewarm whole milk
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • For icing: powdered sugar, vanilla extract, milk

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining lukewarm milk and yeast; let sit until frothy.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, salt; create a well and add the yeast mixture, butter, egg, and vanilla. Mix into dough.
  3. Knead on a floured surface until smooth (8-10 minutes). Let rise for 1-1.5 hours until doubled.
  4. Prepare cheesecake filling by beating cream cheese with sugar, vanilla extract, flour, and sour cream until smooth.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle; spread softened butter over it.
  6. Layer cheesecake filling evenly followed by cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  7. Roll tightly from one edge; cut into twelve pieces and place in a greased baking dish to rise again for 30-45 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow cooling slightly before drizzling with cream cheese icing made from softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, milk and salt.
  10. Top with fresh sliced strawberries.
