  • 1 lb ground beef (85/15 blend)
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • ¼ cup minced shallot
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Aleppo pepper
  • ¼ tsp ground fennel
  • 15 oz tomato puree
  • 2 cups Greek yogurt
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 lb pasta
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large sauté pan over medium-high heat. Add ground beef in chunks and cook until browned; season with salt.
  2. Add minced shallot and tomato paste; stir in spices and tomato puree. Simmer to combine flavors.
  3. Boil water in a large pot and cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  4. Mix Greek yogurt with minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt in a bowl.
  5. Assemble by layering yogurt, pasta mixed with meat sauce, and finishing with Aleppo butter and parsley.
