  • 12 oz canned chickpeas (drained)
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 2 green onions, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or chickpea flour)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup grapeseed oil (for frying)
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill (minced)

Instructions

  1. Drain and pat dry the chickpeas; mash until coarse in a mixing bowl.
  2. Mix in cumin, black pepper, salt, green onions, garlic, flour, and egg until combined.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Form mixture into patties using about 3 tablespoons each.
  5. Fry each side for 3–4 minutes until golden brown; transfer to a wire rack to drain excess oil.
  6. For yogurt sauce, mix Greek yogurt, lemon juice, dill, minced garlic, and sea salt in a bowl; chill until serving.
  7. Serve patties warm with yogurt sauce for dipping.
